Rest Assured: The Best Home Security Systems on the Market For 2019

07/06/2019 By Power Inception

Do you know someone who got their house broken into? How common do you think these crimes are?

According to Forbes, a burglary occurs every 15 seconds. In other words, nearly 200 homes are broken into every hour—that’s a big number!

Don’t want to be part of the statistic? Then be sure to secure your home! After all, you never know who might be lurking around in your neighborhood.

A great way to do this is by installing a security system. If anything, it’s the best way to keep you and your family safe!

But wait—there are so many security systems out there. Which one should you choose? Which one would offer the most protection?

Want to know? Then you’re on the right page! We’ll be highlighting some of the best home security systems below. Keep reading to learn more!

Why Should You Get a Home Security System?

Are home security systems worth it? The answer is yes. Not only will they protect your home, but they’ll protect your valuables as well. After all, high-value items such as electronics and jewelry are the most sought-after during a home invasion.

According to the National Council for Home Safety and Security, homes without a security system are three times more likely to get robbed.

On top of that, many modern systems will allow you to monitor your home even when you’re out. Depending on your provider, you might even be able to control lights and door locks remotely!

Take this company, for instance—their security system can be controlled via a mobile app!

6 of the Best Home Security Systems of 2019

Looking for a home security system? Here are a few that you might want to consider!

1. Nest Secure

The Nest Secure alarm system is great in that it’s super easy to use. The kit includes several things including two detect sensors, two Nest Tags, and a base station.

All you have to do is set up the sensors and they’ll let you know when someone is within their range (about 15 feet). What’s more, is that you can control everything with the Nest Tag—a fob-like device that is capable of arming or disarming the system.

While the system is meant for self-monitoring, you can always go for professional monitoring via Brinks Home Security—it’ll just cost you a little extra every month.

2. Ring Alarm

The Ring Alarm home security kit is easy to set up and does not require a subscription. Cheaper than most of its competitors, it comes with a motion detector, keypad, contract sensor, range extender, and base station.

Other accessories are also available such as cameras, video doorbells, smoke detectors, and sirens (purchased separately).

How does the system work? It will send you a mobile alert if any of the motion detectors or smart sensors are triggered. You can easily manage everything on the Ring app, which is available for both Android and iOS.

If you want, you can even pair it with Alexa!

3. Abode

Abode offers a professional-grade starter kit that’s perfect for any homeowner. Like the other systems that we’ve mentioned, it comes with all the essentials including a window sensor, motion sensor, gateway, remote key fob, and security sticker.

A number of accessories are also available including water leak sensors, vibration sensors, and keypads.

While it doesn’t require a contract, you can always opt for one of their security plans, which you can get for a discount if you purchase one of their starter kits!

4. SimpliSafe

SimpliSafe is used by more than 3 million people in the United States—and for good reason. It’s one of the best security systems that you can get with no contract!

What makes them unique is that they have several starter kits that you can choose from. For instance, their Foundation Kit, which is on the low end, comes with a base station, motion sensor, entry sensor, and keypad.

Not sure whether or not the system is right for you? Don’t worry—all of their kits come with a 60-day guarantee. Put it simply, you can always return it if it doesn’t work out!

5. Honeywell Home

Honeywell’s home security system comes with an Alexa-enabled hub, which serves as the base unit. Not only does it come with a built-in camera, but it’s also equipped with smart sensors that can detect both motion and sound.

Whenever they’re triggered, the system will send you a text notification to your phone, along with a 1080 HD video (with sound). From there, you can choose whether or not the event is worth further action.

Given that it’s powered by Alexa, you can also connect it to your Amazon account to play audiobooks or music!

6. Frontpoint

Frontpoint offers professional monitoring with easy-to-install devices. There are three plans to choose from—Protection, Interactive, and Ultimate.

As far as equipment goes, their starter kit comes with a smart hub, three window sensors, two motion sensors, and a keypad. Of course, you can always customize the system by purchasing additional accessories.

Keep in mind, however, that some add-ons require a specific monitoring plan. For instance, you’ll need the Ultimate plan if you want to use their smart camera or lock.

Protecting Your Home

And there we have it—six of the best home security systems of 2019! As you can see, they all come with different features. Don’t rush when you’re making your decision—do your research and pick the one that’s best for you!
